FARES--please have exact fare when boarding the bus.

Bus/Fixed Route

Cash, base fares

  • Adult $1.25 (1.15 if purchased at the Customer Service Center)
  • Transfer .25 (regular & children) *
  • Elderly (with valid PVTA ID) .60, transfer .10 (To receive reduce-fare privileges you must have a valid PVTA photo ID or statewide Access Pass. This ID is processed while you wait at the Customer Service Center at 1341 Main St. Springfield)
  • Children under 6 years of age ride the PVTA for free
  • Children 6-12 years of age pay .75
  • Passengers 13 years of age and up pay the adult fare.

          * Transfer time is 90 minutes

Bus/Fixed Route

31-Consecutive Day Passes

  • Regular 31-day, monthly cost $45.00
  • Elderly & Disabled 31-day, monthly cost $22.00
  • Regular 7-day cost $12.50
  • Regular day pass, cost $3.00

Fares for ADA & Senior Van Service

  • $2.50 within an adjacent community.
  • $3.00 outside a non-adjacent community.
  • $3.50 out of county/non-adjacent communities

When boarding the bus you must have the exact fare. Operators do not carry change and are not allowed to search purses, pockets or backpacks for customer's fare.

Pre-Paid Tickets

ADA & Senior Service Van Services

Buy discounted tickets ahead of time and save. You can purchase tickets at your local senior center or at the PVTA Customer Service Center.

  • A booklet of 20, ($2.00) van tickets for $38.00
  • A booklet of 10, (.50) van tickets for $ 4.75

Other Information

Proper Identification

One of the following valid identification cards must be shown to the driver each time you board: Elderly--Senior ID card; Disabled--Statewide Access Pass; Medicare--Medicare card. ID cards may be obtained at the PVTA's Customer Service Center at 1341 Main Street, Springfield.

Accessibility

All PVTA buses are wheelchair accessible. Most buses are "kneeling" buses that allow the front of the bus to lower towards the curb, easing the first step onto the bus. The newer buses are a low floor bus which means there are no steps to climb to enter the bus. For TTY service call 1-866-707-1562 (TTY/Relay).
