5/19/2011 - The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority Launches Initiatives that Improve Passenger’s Riding Experience
NORTHAMPTON , MA— The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority introduces several initiatives at an event held at the PVTA stop at the Academy of Music in Northampton. PVTA’s new state-of-the-art Intelligent  Transportation System (ITS) is completely installed on all fixed route buses operating from PVTA’s Northampton Garage and in all vans used for PVTA’s mobility impaired and senior demand responsive service. 10/05/2010 - PVTA Wins 6.2 Million Federal Grant for Ten Diesel-Electric Hybrid Buses
SPRINGFIELD, MA.,--In a nation-wide competition, the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority has been awarded $6.2 million for the purchase of ten diesel-electric hybrid buses. The PVTA’s grant application included letters of support from Congressman John Olver and Congressman Richard Neal. The award was made under the State of Good Repair Program which was initiated by the US Department of Transportation. Read more...
